The City of Bottineau has a volunteer Fire Dept. of 28 members. The Fire Dept. was formally established in 1901 after a huge downtown fire destroyed 2 blocks of downtown businesses.
Our Fire Dept. has an ISO Rating of 6 for insurance purposes. Equipment and vehicles are kept updated and modern.
The annual Firemens Ball is held every year in January and is the main fund raiser for the Fire Dept.

Police Department:
The City of Bottineau contracts their policing with Bottineau County. There are currently 4 deputies that are assigned mainly to the City, and they are overseen by Bottineau County Sheriff, Steve Watson.
